The Heidi Squared 3-layer Invitation with Paisley Backing

I'm excited for this one! These invitations aren't really business, they are more pleasure! But I'll share anyways! These are for my Grandmother's 85th Birthday coming up next month! What I've also learned through this experience is that moms make the worst clients! Generally I nicely tell clients that I will need their guest list by x date so that I can get their envelopes addressed if they choose to do VIP addressing - and they obediently respond so that they don't miss the cut off! Not so much the case when working with your mom! This shin dig is officially 1 day less than a day away and I'm still nagging her for the guest list! You can't have a party without a guests!! Maybe public humiliation & ridicule will help get me that list faster!

Aren't they pretty! I heart these invitations because they really do portray a casual elegant feel to them! It's a nautical inspired party as it will be at the Boat Club my grandmother is a long-time member of! We aren't doing the flags or navy and white color scheme - but we'll be using a pretty sand color to decorate with and our menu is also inspired by the inspiration! We've asked those who have it to wear their nautical regalia! It's going to be fun!

We did RSVP post cards - especially since there will be several older people attending e-mail wasn't really an option! ho does phone RSVPing anymore??

If you can't read the creative RSVP wording it says this:
Our Sails are set, we'll be there!
Sorry, we will be docked somewhere else that day

Sarah Stacked Layered Booklet Invitation in Mod Square Design

Rachael found me through my Etsy shop and she LOVED my booklet invitation! So we worked together and tweaked my original mod circle design to create an invite that really jived with her and her fiances wedding style! And just this past Tuesday I booked another booklet style invitation - I'm sensing that I may be on to a new trend! Move over pocket fold, my booklet invite is on its way in!

Rachael & James' colors we are working with are a smoke grey and purple. James wasn't feeling the purple booklet idea, so Rachael compromised to go with the smoke and use the purple as an accent color - it wouldn't want it to be too girlie, now would we?

I can't take credit for this monogram idea - it was their vision! But I love the square and how nicely it fits on the top layer.

They wanted to stay more traditional with their invite layer, so we made it a simple right aligned wording and emphasized their names in a Honey Scrpt! Please excuse my big blank spots - I wanted to protect their privacy so I had to remove all the personal information!

The details layer communicates all the important details: reception. hotel block info, and shuttle info!

The RSVP layer features a RSVP that is perforated and easily rips out for guests to fill out and mail back. They also used the little extra space to include wedding website information!

Don't forget the backside with the address on the postcard!

My Easter Spread

I've finally polished off the last bit of Easter leftovers - phew, I had so much this year! Fortunately it was all my favs: ham, potato casserole (a recipe from my Mother in Law) and Scalloped Casserole (One of my mother's recipes!) Now that I'm done eating I can finally post some pictures from the occasion...Some of you may have seen my test run I did several months ago, so this is the real deal!
Originally I had planned to do a full out jelly bean bar - that is until I saw the crazy price of jelly beans! Quite costly, I couldn't believe chocolate candy, which I'm more partial to anyways, came in cheaper than Jelly Beans! So I nixed it and just focused on some of my favorites, jelly beans were involved to though! My little candy bar featured Peeps, 2 different types of jelly beans, Reese's Pastel Eggs (YUM) and Whopper's Robin's Eggs!

The centerpiece of the bar is my Cherry Blossom Branch I made using Martha's directions...but oppps I forgot to take a picture of it!

I've got a sweet nephew who is allergic to peanuts, so I had to make sure that I labeled what everything was so that people knew what he could and couldn't eat...the Reese's eggs were out (yay more for me!)

One snowy day this winter I tried to beat the winter blahs with my Sister-in-Law Heidi, the owner and head event planner at Entertain Me Event Planning so we headed off to Christmas Tree Shop and worked on the table decor. I just love all the bright festive spring colors we pulled in! The flower vases are actually soup cans wrapped in pretty paper & a ribbon...simple, cheap and oh so cute!
Each place setting had a little egg bowl with some pink grass and a yummy chocolate bunny for guests to eat.

I made the fruit kabobs as an app...for some reason they didn't fly off the tray as I would have thought - but the left overs made a great snack/breakfast for me for the next week!
I got this punch recipe from one of the girls on thenest.com message board! It was delicious and a big hit. It was a can of pineapple juice, frozen concentrate OJ thawed out, and champagne. I also added some frozen pineapple slices and cut up oranges to make it look pretty!
A week before Easter I bought a pre-packaged salad at Wegman's and I fell in love! I decided to recreate it in bulk...super easy, spinach, feta & Parm cheese, dried cranberries, and croutons. The dressing was a raspberry vinaigrette.

Other sides contributed by family was the scalloped pineapple, potato casserole and broiled asparagus.
You obviously can't forget the entree, Ham! This was a Costco ham with the honey glaze - aways a hit.

Dessert was probably my favorite part of the meal...I was busy cleaning up dishes that I completely forgot to get pictures! I made my first Cheesecake and o.m.g. it was soooo good! You can find the recipe at All Recipes. It was actually a really easy recipe - I'm sure I'll use it again! My husband, C, bless his heart, attempted to make cannoli's - $50 later they were made...it took 2 rounds of filling attempts and several kitchen gadgets later to make them - they were good, but costly, he better make them many more times to make the gadgets worth the $$...C also made some chocolate strawberries!! Yum!

The RSVP Postcards are probably my favorite part of this design. We decided to do something a little different when it came to the reply, we opted to make it Mad Lib Style! Erin's simple and elegant graduation party invitation

Erin's mom called me on Tuesday in a panic...she had been trying to print invitations to her daughter's graduation party herself - but just got too frustrated with the process...lining up the wording, trying to make it fit within the border was just too difficult for her...annnnnd she wanted to get the invitation out by the end of the week! Working with supplies I had on hand I mustered up these simple and elegant invitations on an cream colored stock. I had them printed and delivered to her by Thursday!
Here is just a quick close up of the border I love the look of the triple line & indent...it makes a very standard piece of card stock look upscale and elegant.

Introducing: The Catherine Booklet Invitation

The booklet is soooo the new pocket fold. Anyone else getting tired yet of the pocket fold? It's been done, and although I've always been a fan of it I'm ready for something new! So...I've created a new invitation type, THE BOOKLET STYLE, and I'm naming it after my mother-in-law Catherine! She is a school teacher...so books have always been right up her ally!

This is for sure a unique and different invitation. All the pertinent wedding information is kept nicely in this cute little booklet, each page holding the same information a standard enclosure card would hold. The top layer is a gorgeous piece of vellum featuring the future mr. and mrs. last name initial. So when guests open the envelope they will see this with the invitation directly below it.

The next page features all the reception information including time location, shuttle information. There was also additional room to provide guests with hotel room blocking information!

If you have more information no worries, additional pages can easily be added to accommodate all of your info!

All the pages in the booked are scored to provide easy page turning. All the pages are held nicely together with two layers of ribbon and decorative brats and are backed to a sturdy metallic 5x7 card stock!

As of now the RSVP card stands separately, but I have great plans to include it as part of the book with an easy perforated detachment!

All pieces of this invitation are completely customizable. Paper colors can all be changed, monogram, wording, layout, number of pages can all be customized to meet your needs! My favorite part to customize would also be in the ribbon & brat choices...did you know the brats (which are the small silver squares up the left edge) can have rhinestones? Different shapes and sizes are also available!

Maria & Marc's Flourish Border White Panel Invitation

Maria & Marc had originally choose a send-n-seal invitation from one of our stationery albums...however after getting a sample they were quite thrilled with it. I generally do not recommend a send-n-seal as I feel they lack presence and I always fear that they will rip or be over looked in the mail.

So when they decided to go custom I was thrilled! Not only did they get a great invitation, they even saved money over the send-n-seal invite! Who would have ever thought a custom invitation could beat the price of a send-n-seal invite...even more, a send-n-seal invitation that was discounted!?! Well I'm hear to tell you it can be done! :)
Maria & Marc were also a little concerned about the rsvps and people bringing more people than were invited..so they had requested to have their rsvps worded as ___seat(s) have been reserved in your name. When they decided to go the custom route it was a simple switch to actually print the number of seats reserved in there name...so now there will be no messy handwriting on their invitations when they mail them out!

Maria & Marc are clients of (and were referred to us by) our friends at Entertain Me Event Planning in Wilmington, De! They have picked great invites and a great coordinator!

Jackie & Brian's Pink Coral Swirl Gatefold Invitation & Accessories

When Jackie & Brian picked the color of coral as the main color for their wedding they had no idea how difficult it would be to find anything in the particular color they choose. The beautiful color isn't quite pink...and that has made things difficult for them as they really wanted to actually use their color in more than just the bridesmaids' dresses.

So when it came to invitations there really was no other option but to go complete custom...all the way down to the paper! Using her small swatch of fabric we picked the closest pantone color & then printed a swirl pattern onto a cream colored paper (front and back side) so that we could bring her color into the
invitation!
The ribbon that closes the gatefold neatly holds all the enclosures together for a truly elegant look.

When guests untie the ribbon they can then open the gatefold to reveal a very simple and elegant invitation printed in a smoke grey color - which looks fabulous and less harsh than a tru black ink.
To match the invitation we all created a simple monogram notecard that the bride and groom can use for all of their thank you notes! Again, we did their names in smoke and the & was in the matching pinkish coral color used on their swirl paper!

We have some extra custom paper that we will be using for Jackie & Brian's programs...I'll have to show you those when I'm done! I'm excited for a nice layered invitation with vellum overlay!

I had a few scraps of paper after creating the samples, so I started designing some coordinating decor pieces for reception decor to add to my portfolio!
The table numbers also feature the same paper, but this time we added a vellum overlay & we attached it using the same cream colored ribbon.

This was by far my favorite idea with the tiny scraps of paper I had after cutting the gatefold
. There was only about 1.5"x7" piece of paper and I got the great idea to make napkin rings out of them! I hate any cute paper going to waste! I simple used a little ribbon to keep it together. If you were to place the same type of order as Jackie the great news would be that the paper for this item would essentially be free as they are actually scraps!

For a more personalized touch...tell guests where they are supposed to sit with the napkin ring also acting as a place card!

With the littlest scraps I was able to punch hearts out of them...the swirl and cream heart combo confetti would look adorable surrounding the centerpieces, lining the gift table or place card table...
