Sneak Peak: Easter

My husband and I are very excited to be hosting Easter this year! This is the first major holiday in our new place and we are excited to show off all of our hard work & renovations on the new place. We are also excited to pull out all of our fancy china & crystal we registered for our wedding. It has all been in storage for 2 years when we were living in smaller apartments! It's so pretty too, it deserves to be used! Today I had the day off, so I thought I would start getting the decor under control...I'm trying to forget about more snow coming & focus on how close we are getting to spring!!

Above is the tablescape will be using. It was simple and affordable to put together. The candles, cake stands and & small egg shaped bowls were all purchased from the Christmas Tree Shops. FOr the mock-set up I used fake flowers from Michaels, but for the real thing I'm going with real tulips. I'll also probably cut them down a bit so they aren't so tall & probably use more of them per vase.

The flower holder is actually soup cans. I cut down 12x12 scrapbook paper to size, wrapped the paper around the can and hot glued it into place. I then used some left over sage green ribbon from my wedding to tie a quick knot around the can for a little something extra.

To add a little more color to the table & to opt out of a costly table runner I used pink Easter grass, also purchased from the Christmas Tree Shops.

At each place setting there are small egg shaped bowls, all in different colors. I put a chocolate bunny in each one. On the actual day I'll probably also fill it will jelly beans and other small candy.

For the menu, I'm planning to serve:
Ham
Scalloped Pineapple
A Salad
Bread
I'm still trying to decide on another side or 2 and dessert.

I'm also planning on having a jelly bean bar - a take on the oh so popular candy bar. Pictures of this still to come!

Happy Easter Planning!

I love your soup can idea. I have been saving a bunch for a Summer outdoor project, but I may just have to dip into my stash and try this out. Also.... Jelly bean bar?!?! Come on, how COOL is that?!?! I LOVE the idea :) Have a great time hosting... eat a jelly bean or two for me!
